Azerbaijani Energy Minister speaks on oil and gas projects

The income of Azerbaijan from implementing oil and gas projects will amount to some $40bn to $65bn, Azerbaijani Fuel and Energy Minister Medzhid Kerimov said at a conference devoted to Caspian oil and gas. According to him, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline meets modern requirements for security and ecology. The construction of the pipeline will be finished at the end of 2004 and Azerbaijani oil will be delivered to the Turkish terminal in Ceyhan in the second quarter of 2005. The minister drew special attention to the project of the exploration of the Shakh-Deniz gas-condensate field, which according to some estimates costs $3.2bn.
