By walking softer. A county that is confident in its ability to protect itself and its partners ability to protect it, isn't going to be so destructively paranoid to the point it actually hurts itself by treading too aggressively. A country that is overly paranoid, can be overly forceful, which in turn creates a huge PR problem, which only generates more terrorists. Catch 22.

The Lukid Party could start fixing the problem by letting go some of the settlements that only they seem to want.

Just out of curiosity, rather than wittle Palestine down to nothing but destruction, why doesn't Israel's govt take the country over and rebuild it up to give people hope? Not implying that's a good solution, in fact I don't think it is, but given Israel govt's sometimes overly forceful military activities, I wondered why their govt didn't do that.
