INTC Intel may reduce high end of sales forecast as PC demand slows -- Bloomberg.com (28.01 )

Bloomberg.com reports that Intel will probably trim its highest sales estimate for Q2 amid lower-than-expected demand for desktop computers. Demand for laptop chips may help keep revenue at a four-year high. Merrill Lynch analyst Joseph Osha predicts Intel will reduce its highest sales forecast to as low as $8 bln from $8.2 bln. Goldman, Sach's Andrew Root is forecasting $8.1 bln. Intel will today probably keep the mid-point of its range at $7.9 bln, the analysts said in research reports.
