Phil > It is no wonder the average Arab, looking at his own drab existence, is fed up and is susceptible to terror recruitment. He would probably like to see $100/ bbl., and hope that a few cents might find its way into his pockets.

I think the lot of Abdul Six-Pack cannot be too pleasant at all. That's why Islam and, especially, Islamic fundamentalism is so important to the Arab leaders. That's how they control the masses.

> A revolution in the oil producing Arab countries would be a catastrophe for the US and the West

As I understand it, the universities in Saudi are hot-beds of just that. Allegedly, bin Laden's whole gripe was about the corruption of the Arab aristocracy and his plan was to get the US out of Saudi, but perhaps not to put in a government the students would have liked. However the US hasn't told us about that yet.

> The Iraqi war had nothing to do with oil, right?

IMO, that was half of it. The other half was Israel's security or whatever.

> I predict the US will leave Iraq just before the last barrel of oil is pumped out of the middle east

Maybe the week before.
