I admire your faith in the price system, but it won't make energy appear from nowhere. No, but you can make the use of energy disappear by having the price of it go up. The best "energy policy" our Government can pursue is to get out of the way of the whole business. But they won't, of course. So they will continue to distort the Gas prices. Our present gas prices have more basis from our refusal to allow refineries to be built, and the special gas mixes demanded, that it does from any shortage of oil. Remember, Carter's gas lines were caused by Carter's rationing, not by the Arabs.
