Amedia Networks QoStream™ Family of Products
The Amedia Networks solution is designed to unify the power of ubiquitous IP networks with the distribution of residential fiber to converge IP voice, HD video and ultra-broadband data through a single symmetrical gateway into homes and small businesses. The product family will include a 100 Mbps Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) gateway, a hardened, distributed aggregation switch, a layer 2 Ethernet Core Switch and a network management system designed to be located in the Central Office or Head End of the network operator. The system is designed to enable carrier-class reliability, multiple Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Agreements (SLA), software downloads, fault isolation, and remote network management. While the products are being designed to work in unison to provide a complete end-to-end solution, each component is designed for use with other standards based Ethernet products. The company anticipates products will begin to be available during the third quarter of this year.
Amedia PG1000™ Gateway
The Amedia Networks PG1000 is the next-generation ultra-broadband gateway product which will enable customers to receive voice, video, and data services through a single 100Mbps device in the home or business. Amedia Networks has combined the latest in low-cost Ethernet components with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and a mini-PCI connector for additional applications (e.g. wireless access) to create the optimal premises gateway. The PG1000 is a cost effective, upgradeable and manageable premises device designed to perform data, telephony and local Ethernet switching functions.
Amedia AS5000 Aggregator Switch
The Amedia AS5000 Aggregation Switch is designed to combine state-of-the-art Ethernet and IP technology to provide industry-leading QoS and system reliability. The AS5000 uses a simple network management protocol (SNMP) model that requires the management and provisioning of only IP/Ethernet versus other technologies which require management of both TDM and packet networks. The AS5000 features a compact, scalable, low power design that can be installed both indoors and in outside plant enclosures without the need of costly cooling systems. The AS5000 can be located up to 50 km from the CS1200 Core Switch. It will provide switching, management and aggregation functions as well as multicast and unicast video delivery.
Amedia CS1200 Switch
The Amedia CS1200 Core Switch is designed to be the next-generation Gigabit switch that that provides high-capacity Ethernet Layer 2 switching and aggregation and delivers a variety of revenue-generating services. The CS1200 is a single-chassis, carrier-grade switching system designed for central offices, head ends, and service nodes. Each chassis will support Packet Processing Cards, Switch Fabric Cards and Controller Cards. The CS1200 will feature a non-blocking, 10Gbps full-duplex line-rate processing capability per Packet Processing Card, for a total switching capacity of up to 120 Gbps per chassis. The CS1200 may be deployed in conjunction with optical transport equipment, IP service products, and access products.
The Director
The QoStream™ Director is designed to be a single person remote management system controlling end-to-end operations. It will provide product and network management functions and support fault isolation, configuration, inventory and accounting management. In addition, security, user authentication, provisioning and software downloads will be provided to ensure complete and accurate delivery of services and applications.
