A few words "over the top" doesn't change the statement which he stands by, that the war had gone mad and out of control by then, that there were many atrocities being committed and all but encouraged by the top brass, and that it was time to end it and bring our solodiers home. On all three counts, Kerry was absolutely correct. He was also REPRESENTING vets in that testimony, not attacking them, and he included his own unit among those who'd done wrong. I think what Kerry regrets is that as a passionate young warrior back from battle, he rubbed in the blood and guts description. But remember, that was his life and reality for 120 days. He himself killed over twenty men.
