What's your scenario here? Bush explodes (further?) or Kerry actually wins on his own strength?
Either way works for me. At this point, there is really nothing more Bush could do to change the mind of his supporters, so I suppose Kerry will have to motivate enough people to get to the polls.
My mother was visiting last week and we had this long conversation about Bush. The theme, in a nutshell, was that it was just so obvious to both of us that he is just flat out stupid... and was it that his supporters couldn't see it, or saw it but didn't care because they agreed with his conservative, christian, big brotherly agenda.
To me and mine, even without ever hearing a word come out of his mouth, he just looks like he has some kind of deficit of intelligence. Something about the eyes being too close together or sunken in or something. Then he opens his mouth and any doubt is removed.
And, okay, maybe part of this is yankee bias against a guy from Texas who to my ears sounds like a relative of Jed Clampett. But still, not all folks from the south (Shout out to my man Jimmy Carter...or even Ross Perot for that matter) say such stupid things, or mispronounce so many words, or seem to smirk all day long no matter what is being discussed.....OR HAVE THAT VACANT LOOK AND DEAD EYES that embody the old "the lights are on but no one is home" joke.
Okay, I guess that about sums it up. |
