Junior was skipped over on the large waiting list and was allowed to join the guard to avoid regular service. His grade on the entrance test was 1 point above the minimum required to be a pilot. He served as he should for about 3 years. After that everything went to hell. He missed month after month of training. It only takes being absent 1 day to be charged with being AWOL. It takes 30 days before this charge can be raised to being a deserter. He was absent without official leave one time for a period of 5 months. He was absent without permission at other times. When the guard started requiring a drug test he either refused to take the exam or he failed it and somehow got the papers which would attest to this expunged from his record. He finally was allowed to quit.
I don't see any way any rationally person can compare junior's record to that of a 3 time purple hear recipient who went back under fire and pulled a wounded man from the water and at another time charged a gook onshore who was wielding an RPG (I think it was an RPG, not sure about that.)

So what it boils down to is on one hand we have a decorated war veteran as compared to a person who went AWOL (even though he was never charged with his crime.) Now junior supporters are so in denial that they refuse to admit which of the two candidates look the most presidential based on their service. I am not surprised.
