I don't think they can wing it anymore. They have press coverage 24/7 just waiting for them to say or do something dumb so they can make it front page for the next week. To be quite honest I find our process to be totally f-ed up these days. Who in the world would want to be President and go through this process? I mean if you weren't raised in a convent your every sin will become a headline at some point.

So we don't get highly intelligent and successful business people because they are not going to put up with the process. Instead we get born, bred and raised politicians with no more connection to the common man then the man in the moon. They will say and do anything to get elected and will say and do anything to stay. They bloat the budget and then give it away to buy votes. They care not in the least what is good for the country they only care what will get them elected. Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter. Vote for a pink pig or a white pig they both feed at the same trough.

How's that for cynical.
