May 2004 - 138,772,000
number of employees - non farm payrolls (seasonally unadjusted):
Jan 2001 - 130,433,000
Feb 2001 - 131,098,000
Apr 2004 - 130,975,000
May 2004 - 131,914,000 (it seems as though this number jumps up like this every Apr-May)
Note the seasonally adjusted number of payroll employees is still less than Jan-Feb 2001. |
