Just my 2 cents.
Martin, I have gone through the emotions you are expressing.
I also expected a buy out a couple of years ago. Johnson & Johnson.
After the lawsuit I took the opportunity to buy more (twice). If the analysts projections are accurate, we are looking at a 9+ stock, may be 18 months out. If you can find a doubler go ahead and switch. The full impact of this h-pylori has not hit yet.People got excited about e-coli, I don't know how many cases a year there are, but statistically its not worth worrying about(my opinion only). Just cook meat to the required temperature. H-pylori on the other hand, is big numbers. Various researchers have implicated it in 8 or 9 conditions. "50% of all Americans over 50 have it," "everybody in Peru", the numbers are tremendous. I have now got to the point where a buyout by some other company would be a disappointment for me. I am looking 2 years down the road for even more than 9. Try taking next years estimate of .32 X 1.25 (growth) X 30(PE). When you bought, 4 years ago, QDEL was not even making money. Bob may be correct, for the stock, the lawsuit might have been a good thing. For me I know it was, even though it upset me.
