Up here in B.C., hydro has been warning about power shortages for quite some time. Opposition to building gas fired generation plant is enormous. Even smaller say 200MW joint venture efforts with Pulp Mills are opposed. It is the old "not in my backyard" problem.

I can just imagine the uproar if hydro was to propose more dams. And, as Russ earlier reported, B.C. will probably have to import power at peak times this year due to anticipated water shortages.

Like you say, up da same ole creek. (& no paddle)
