Kerry will win.
Toss up. Either one could walk away with it. I just hope whoever does win gets a clean clear victory. No more Floridas.

I wonder why it is that Kerry can be made fun of for looking French (as if all French look the same) and for his style of speech (educated New England), but it's wrong to say that Bush doesn't look too bright, mangles the language, and has an accent that grates on the Yankee ear.
Uh, this is called "politics". Anything and everything is fair game. You don't like it, you stay clear of the game. Being too smart can be a liability. Being dumb can be a liability. Or either can be turned into a plus. The idea that only Hahvahd graduates should be allowed into the White House is a bad joke and we both know it.

And, BTW, Yanquis are hardly the only Americans. I think westerners and midwesterners and southerners get a say in this too.

It bothers me that education, wealth, and articulateness are acceptable for derision.
Education? Why not make only Ph.D.'s eligible for the Presidency? That's a rhetorical question; we all know why.

Wealth? Works both ways. JFK was wealthy. A cultured aristocrat. Reagan came from poverty. Man of the people.

Articulateness? Depends. Sometimes the best thing is to keep your mouth shut.

Po, I think you're real problem is that your guy is getting some flak too. If he wanted to avoid that, he never should have stepped up. Colin didn't.
