The Europeans are murmuring polite condolences to GWB, of course. Yet they think of RR far better in retrospect, with the Cold War safely over, than they did when he was in office. Then, they considered him a lunatic cowboy, just as they do George Bush right now. Perhaps Reagan's death might give them pause to reconsider both first impresssions.
