"...all the attention to Reagan this week may not be a good thing for Bush because it may cause Bush to seem lacking in comparison..."

kholt, let me see if I follow your logic correctly.

Attention to Reagan this week may not be a good thing for Bush because he may seem lacking in comparison.

Am I right in deducing the following implications re: the current Presidential race during this coming week of Remembering Reagan?

Bush, compared to Reagan, is a negative for Bush.

Kerry, compared to Reagan and then Bush, winds up with a net positive. Bush's negative score when compared to Reagan means that his opponent, Kerry, will score positively as the public remembers Reagan.

Does it follow in chasing your logic that Kerry, since Bush scores a negative when compared with Reagan scores a positive, Kerry sucking up all of the positives in the minds of a Remembering Reagan public?.

In other words, in the current Presidential election cycle, Remembering Reagan throughout this week will serve to reduce Bush's appeal to the voters and enhance Kerry's appeal thereby redounding to the credit of the Democratic campaign and detracting from that of the Republicans.

Is this what you comment implies?

Or does my attempt to provide a logical analysis of your comments lead me to erronious conclusions?
