If they elect a gov of theocrats, they will once again become enslaved. The American Democratic-Republic had the wisdom to separate church & state. The melding of those organizations always creates an oppressive society. We cannot expect perfection from any endeavor that attempts to abolish an evil. When you fight a ruthless enemy, you will not win if perfection is your goal. Instead, those who share the terrorists religion, should have started to fight the evil before it became strong enough to threaten the entire world. Don't shoot the messenger who has the courage to fight the evil that was not confronted when it could have prevented innocent bloodshed.
