Dave:

Your post brings to mind something that happened yesterday.

I flipped on the radio in the car. It was Sat. morning, and the radio happened to be tuned to NPR (yes, even I listen to NPR on occasion). Garrison Keillor's show as on.

He started the show with the comment that Reagan had passed away, and was about to go on with some kind words about the man.

From the audience, there were some hoots and even cheers, as if these people were actually gratified by the death of this great man who was instrumental in bringing the Soviet Union to its knees and ending the cold war.

I was offended.

Credit goes to Garrison Keillor, who went on to have kind comments about Reagan.

As for those asses who chose to hoot and cheer the death of a great American, I only wish they could live a year in a totalitarian country, and maybe, just maybe, they'd appreciate the freedoms they have here.

FWIW, the democratic line of divisiveness and hate will fail, and Bush will be reelected in November. I look forward to my post to American Spirit on Nov. 3.
