-- DPAC and Cubic team up for automotive demonstration at Sensors Expo in Detroit
Cubic Systems, Inc., a privately held company in Ann Arbor, Michigan has announced today that it has selected the Airborne(TM) Wireless LAN Node Module from DPAC Technologies (Nasdaq:DPAC) for its wireless universal vehicle network bridge, called SenseNet(TM) VNB. SenseNet VNB is the world's first 802.11b wireless bridge that supports all on-board diagnostic (OBD and EOBD for Europe) automotive data networks that reduce the cost and complexity of wiring in automobiles. SenseNet VNB delivers wireless data communications to automotive diagnostics and fleet asset management systems.
"The Airborne Wireless LAN Node Module allowed us to meet automotive industry requirements better than any other solution we evaluated," said Rick Fortson, president for Cubic Systems, Inc. "Our customers have begun evaluation and have responded favorably to the technology and features brought by the Airborne module."
"We're pleased to have been selected by an industry leader and innovator of Cubic's caliber," said Kim Early, CEO for DPAC. "Cubic has developed significant relationships in the automotive diagnostics, fleet management, and telematics industries which have been identified as key markets for DPAC's wireless products."
Cubic Systems will join DPAC to interactively demonstrate SenseNet at the Sensors Expo and Conference, a national trade show held at Cobo Center in Detroit, June 8-10, which is expected to draw over 3000 design engineers and top decision makers.
The Airborne(TM) and AirborneDirect(TM) family of products provide wireless networking solutions to OEMs requiring industrial grade performance and a quick time-to-market. The wireless products were first introduced to market in September 2003 and have quickly earned their way into dozens of OEM designs. DPAC has successfully adhered to an aggressive product launch plan and a commitment to leading the OEM market for wireless networking solutions.
