In 1984 it was a privilege to be a delegate to the GOP National Convention representing one of the Congressional Districts in Virginia in support of President Reagan's Re-election.

I could write for hours about the late 1970's and the decade of the 1980's----and, how we "Reaganites" worked to affect change locally and nationally----inspired by Reagan. However, today is not the time.

Today, what comes into my field is the connection that I felt the day President Reagan died.

Both President Reagan and my mother were born in 1911, both died on the same day but nine years apart and both died in the final stages of alzheimers.

Both were public servants-----making an impact whereever they were in life----Ronald Reagan worldwide and my mother locally.

President Reagan captured the hearts of Americans including my mother------ he was the first and only Republican that my mother ever voted for in her life.

Thanks Glenn for starting this board in memory and honor of one of the truly great American President's--Ronald Reagan.
