FDR had longevity and a both a war and depression to contend with. RR won a war without a shot being fired and reversed a national malaise.

As JohnM just posted, I think this is the wrong week for comparisons. FDR totally botched the depression. The only thing in his favor is that the conservatives were clueless also. We didn't understand money then, and did the wrong things. He also botched the planning for the postwar. This was due to the thinking at the time that the Soviet Union was an alternative life style, not an evil empire.
