One of my friends wokring in UPS told me that drivers makes $60K
and he thought that it is unfair. He agrees that their job is tiring
and demanding but when you compare that with other powerful union
in this ocuntry (teachers, who need training in countries like India
where they have to sweat their ass for long hours and get only 1 month summer vacation)
UPS union members receive a far better pay even for guys without high-school diploma. Similarly if you compare with other (ass piercing union, current NY city fame) union
like police where their job is more riskier UPS union members earn
darn good money. Well where will this lead to? All the union guys
will jump in and start demanding more money.
Obviously it is going to trim down the wall street enthusiasm.
Another threat which is equally obvious is inflation. Now with their
new found heavyness in their pocket, you will see affordability and hence price hick. Let us hope our friend 30year bond won't start climbing to 7.00 and above.
