I would venture a guess that AOL will be the winner. First, of all the big providers (MSN, AOL, Compuserve and Prodigy) I believe that AOL is the only one that actually had an increase in subscribers this past quarter. If this is incorrect information, someone please post.

This war has been going for some time. Free access to try out the service, then cancel if the customer doesn't like it. As for the Packard-Bell deal with Prodigy...Packard-Bell computers have a terrible reputation for reliability and customer service. Regardless, when the customer boots up that Packard-Bell, he/she should have the choice of MSN, AOL or Prodigy. Based on brand name and recognition, I would tend to believe that consumers would choose the first two over the latter.
