Many vets are Republicans. So what? I'll tell you this much, in the end Kerry will get more veterans votes than any democrat in recent history. Also, his choice of running mate may be a big plus when it comes to vets. Vets also ought to know that Bush has already cut VA benefits and wants to cut more. Just as Bush was sending troops to war he was also cutting 990 VA doctors and nurses. That's a fact. Meanwhile he was siding with the HMO's and drug companies to make all our health care more expensive. On a personal level, Kerry a real combat hero while Bush and Cheney both dodged the draft and Bush disappeared in 1972 without reporting for duty then has lied about it since.
