My understanding would be that "every day, in every way, Iraq is getting better and better" has been W's official affirmation for some time now. Though the affiliated PR campaign seems to have had a false start or 2 or 10. Not that I've ever noticed any letup among the faithful, it's always "spin, lies, bias, and prevarication" ((c) carranza2) from the nefarious liberal press conspiracy when contrary indicators rear their ugly heads.

The son-of-IGC deal that's officially supposed to take over is a little mysterious, but that's ok. At least they cut out Chalabi. At this point, though, skepticism would seem to be warranted enough in light of what has gone before.

At any rate, I think that "light at the end of the tunnel" thing would be officially out of favor due to verboten Vietnam overtones, but who can say?
