Did Christ literally mean that "this generation" should not be passing until all those things happened?

Of course you're certain that those things pertaining to your preteristic beliefs were absolutely literal. Everyone else is following man's doctrines when they read something and take it literally. Everyone else has a carnal view of scripture. It seems only you know when the bible is to be taken literally.

Brian, I don't claim to have a lock on scriptural truth, but I can guarantee you this: Sin has not been ended and death has not yet been abolished. All enemies absolutely have not been subdued.

Perfection is yet future. But Christ will see that it happens.
