Of course, the pie is NOT infinite, so it must be finite. Finite and "can be grown" are NOT mutually exclusive. The world econimic pie still has much room to grow. The "central issue here" is that the share of the pie is shrinking for a growing percent of the people in the US and there doesn't appear to be any useful remedies that don't include some form of isolationism or protectionism.
