I was a big fan of the game back in 1969 when the knicks won their first championship. Red Holzman was coach and the tenth man who sat on the bench for the entire game would be called on to give the appropriate foul either to waste a few seconds before the opponents were in the shooting situation or to foul Wilt or someone else who couldnt make foul shots. Nobody has devised away to remove this part of the game. Theres a big difference between this and a violent hard foul or a spit ball or corked bat in baseball for example. If one doesnt like these types of fouls, you should get the rules changed but in reality there is just not a way. Maybe Mel Gibson could make a movie called the Passion of Koby--oops shouldnt have gone there--somehow i remember a court case where koby may have committed a real foul. Mike
