Scott posted political articles, not always related to the politics/ economics of gold. Soros decided to start another gold thread and changed the name of this to what it is. Even then, it managed to stay relatively sane (the only drivel was coming from JLA) until the last few months.
Thanks for posting. Well said.
Originally, I book-marked and read this thread as it's a been a good place to find recent articles gleaned from all over -- all sources -- mainstream, alternative, local, international, whatever. IMO, it's up to each person to read and/or discard what they like or don't like. That's why I've kept this thread book-marked for so long -- I liked how Scott posted articles or links to articles without too much in the way of commentary -- not that I have a problem with occasional comments now and then. What I don't care to read are the parrot-like posts of those who come to this thread with the purpose of "doing battle" and the intent of trying to "convince" the readers of these articles that they contain "false allegation, innuendo, rumor, gossip and out right fabrication". IMO, that kind of crap is just about as welcome as having some religious nut showing up at my door trying to foist his/her opinion of the world, evolution, creation, the coming apocalypse, or whatever, onto me when I'm busy and have better things to do. Let readers decide what they wish to read. If a fight is what people are looking for, it's just too bad they can't move their asses over to one of the "fighting threads" that seem to have sprouted just about everywhere on S.I. (and that abound all over the net for that matter). That probably says something about the unfortunate state our times, but I'm not interested in getting into that.
Anyhow, I will continue to read this thread, and hope that others will continue to post interesting articles, and I will endeavor to do so occasionally as well. As I can't be bothered trying to argue with or stop those who wish to come here to try to convert, convince, belittle, annoy, antagonize, or otherwise pester the posters on this thread, I'll just keep adding the "annoyances" to my "ignore" list. Over the past couple of weeks, I've added quite a slash of them to my list. I must say that my most recent purge of posters has certainly facilitated the speed at which I read this thread.
