Why does stem cell research threaten anyone? All I see are great potential benefits and great people like Nancy Reagan and Christopher Reeve pleading for it. The Bush campaign made a strategic decision to placate the far right religious types by banning most research. Laura Bush has plenty of reason to support stem cell research but she's juist parroting the political position. There is no realistic moral reason why anyone should block stem cell research.
