Even if self preservation is the "first Law" it's a huge leap of logic to move from that, to self sacrifice.

And you believe in the physical~bodily resurrection of Jesus ?
Seems that there are all kinds of leaps of faith that could be promoted here .

Do you sometimes ever wonder , that maybe ...just maybe you
are quite confused about other realities and impossiblities of this Universe as well?
Perhaps need just a little refresher course in what is possible and what is not ?

Men do sacrifice themselves on fields of battle everyday , they even blow themselves up or get their daughters & sons to do so to preserve and promote the faith and preserve the Holy Lands , national borders, ways of life ...but they do not ascend physically to heaven ...nor , do I think did Jesus .

One of the weakest links of all is the physical resurrection , for so much of the spiritual/psychological truth perhaps , is missed in emphasizing it . But to demand this belief as the cornerstone of the Church , from the very beginning as with Peter drawing his sword , the message and the metaphor was always misread and misunderstood.

But like Islam , Christianity is a religion of peace ....yet then again I see 1000's of university students from all over the world studying astronomy , philosophy , history, physics , law & architecture and also do so in relative peace too, and do also learn to have moral compasses and are introduced to ethics as they began to do a long , long time ago...even before "Jesus".
