I disagree that opposition to affirmative action is racism, per se.

My thought is that superior minority-owned companies are actually disadvantaged when the playing field is artifically leveled so that all minority-owned companies are treated the same.

You don't own a business but you still competed for scarce resources. I expect it would have stuck in your craw if people who did not work as hard as you were treated identically due to characteristics that had nothing to do with individual effort.

Why bother busting your ass if the only criterion that matters in getting the contract has nothing to do with how hard you work, how well you produce, your record in performance over time, how savvy you are in seeking the deal?
