You crack me up, man. That's a rather self-serving dismissal.

It's not self-serving. You've simply misapplied the text, as heathens commonly do.

It's a quote from Jesus!

Merely because it is a quote from Jesus does not mean you've applied the quotation rationally. You have here clearly slandered a man and his church, providing no factual basis for your claims against him, no examples of his errors and not even a single example of the alleged error of his church. You have only presented heathen lies here as fact, and when someone called you on it you have, like a common heathen scoundrel, fled to your last refuge in Matt. 7:1. Well, in effect you are claiming that if you steal or kill, no one ought to point out the error here either, due to Matt. 7:1. You've abused the text. It simply tell us that if we judge others, we also will be judged by the same judgement. I am prepared for this judgement, since my conscience is clean of the sort of sin you have committed against John Ashcroft.

What are you talking about? Do you think he really meant to add "except for Johannes" at the end? I'm a "heathen" because I quote Jesus?

Don't know that you are a heathen, though heathens commonly abuse Matt. 7:1 precisely as you have done.

How about Moses? Do heathens quote him, too? DT 1:17
Do not be afraid of any man, for judgement belongs to God. To God, Johannes, not you.

You abuse the Scriptures precisely as the heathen do. You ought to repent of this spiritual ignorance. That text clearly does not apply here. Read the section in better context. Moses is speaking to the people of Israel about what happened in the past:

"15 So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them to have authority over you-as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal officials. 16 And I charged your judges at that time: Hear the disputes between your brothers and judge fairly, whether the case is between brother Israelites or between one of them and an alien. 17 Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of any man, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it. 18 And at that time I told you everything you were to do." (Deut. 1:15-18)

The text shows clearly that human judges were used to judge men in tribal court, and that they were charged with judging fairly and without fear, because God is judging. The text has nothing at all to do with my pointing out how you have slandered a man and his church like a pure heathen.

Furthermore, do your sweeping judgements help anybody? Or are you a Pharisee, feeding your self-righteous pride.

I am pointing out that you have acted like a heathen here against another believer who, though I may not support him politically, appears to have done nothing of what you have accused him of.

Matthew 23:13 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

You abuse yet another text. Christ here excoriates Pharisees because not only did they refuse to accept Him, but they forbade others to accept Him. I do no such thing here. You are childishly corrupting the meaning of the text, rather than taking their most accessible meaning and learning from it. This disrespect for the Scriptures is exactly what we commonly find amongst the heathen.

What do you do to a person when you call them a "heathen?"

Well, when it comes right to it, I essentially use the term with believers to show the sharp division between themselves and non-believers. But if in speaking to heathens I use the word "heathen," it is typically to point out that that is what people who do not know the truth are in God's sight, according to the Scriptures. When I do this, I am telling them the truth.

I'd say it's like slamming a door in their face.

Well, coming from a guy who slanders believers with heathen lies, I'd say you haven't the authority to declare how every heathen will react when encountering the hard truth of his spiritual condition.

Luke 18:11 - The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men–robbers, evildoers, adulterers' He sounds just like you.

Judge not, lest you be judged.
