Well, now you are talking potential civil war. I do not think the American people would stand for us getting involved in a Civil War on either side. Now if it turned into genocide, then I would think the UN would be bound to intervene. We went to Iraq, first to protect America from an evil dictator who could be trusted to foment terrorism either directly or indirectly, and secondly to free the Iraqi people from bondage. That was the scope of our mission and I doubt it would be enhanced to set up seperate countries, not to mention the problems that may encounter with OTHER allies such as Turkey.
I have faith the Iraqi people will realize it is in THEIR best interest to have a unified, strong Iraq with contributions from ALL their PEOPLES. jdn
