Warning: I just spent a good part of the evening trying to remove a virus/trojan horse that ADV detected. It took me three times to run the ADV and remove them - 9 files infected. I'm not even sure if I have successfully removed them altogether. It effected my startpage and I kept getting porn pop-ups and spyware pop-ups. I noticed, like Ken, that a toolbar was at the bottom of my screen. In programs was a program called WhenUSearch - I did not voluntarily install this. I could not remove it thru add/remove. I was able to remove it via AD-Aware.

What is it with these search toolbars that are auto installing on people's computers? Why does AVG detect these after they have infected the files - isn't it supposed to stop it before it happens? I have all the updated definitions.
