The primary qualification for working for governments is willingness and even desire to suborn one's mind to the boss. Government life is basically the Kremlin central-planning suffocatory bureaucracy style.

You know,I've worked in the Washington DC metro area for almost 20 years, been married to a federal bureaucrat the entire time, have lots of clients and friends who were federal bureaucrats, and I simply have to disagree.

It's just a job. You put in your hours, and punch out, and go home and live your real life somewhere else.
