American CinemaStores, Inc. Retains The Wall Street
Group as Financial Public Relations Counsel to
Maximize Shareholder Value

COMMERCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 1997--AMERICAN
CINEMASTORES, INC. (NASDAQ:ACSI), which recently acquired the Susan
Burrowes,Ltd. apparel manufacturing company as part of a turnaround,
has retained the financial public relations services of The Wall Street
Group, Inc., Kathryn Van Ness, President and CEO of ACSI, announced today.

The Wall Street Group is a 38-year old New York City-based investor
relations company which specializes in developing investment community
sponsorship for the shares of growth companies. Said Ms. Van Ness: ``We

locations, terminated that business in 1996. ACSI now operates two

upon a program of strategic apparel and other related acquisitions,
with a focus on companies whose revenues and profits can be enhanced
not only by astute merchandising but also can benefit from a planned
acquisition of an apparel technology company, now in negotiation.
