"Broadband in the Air" is the title of a new thread on the BCR online forum that highlights Craig McCaw's new venture, Clearwire, and it's newly acquired company, NextNet.

See the comments concerning interference in the 3Gig range in the first reply. Anyone like to comment on this?

Editor Eric Krapf has been pretty good about giving last mile / first mile topics some decent coverage recently. One wonders why no one up til now has picked up on what almost seems to be too obvious: Many future broadband venues will combine both fiber and wireless (what we've termed here in the past as hybrid fiber/wireless, or HF/W), despite any predispositions on the part of the SP to tout one form or the other, as they see their nichiality demanding of a preferred clasification.

When it comes to WiMAX, it seems that Krapf is also of the belief that "one of these things doesn't belong here," again from the Sesame Street game I cited, earlier, with regard to 4th gen wireless.
