As I suspected, you have nothing to say.

Ronald Reagan was all that Ike said and much more. He was a symbol of what was wrong with the Democrats total control of the agenda in the US for 40 years. The Dems had become disconnected with the people they spoke for and backed institutions that had became part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Until the early 60's Reagan was a Democrat- until he saw that that party perpetuated problems like the Cold war and the welfare state, instead of solving them. Both of these institutions trace their change back to Reagan.

They still hate Reagan. They have always hated him. He is a symbol of their failure. When he came to power they said he was not up to the job intellectually nor did he have the temperament to deal with the Soviets. He was too much of a cowboy.

After this week of remembrance of the man it is clear that he had the intelligence and the character to see his vision through. And a cowboy was precisely what we needed. Peace through strength is the only way to insure peace.

What they have completely missed is the decency of the man and the manner in which he treated people, whether they are friend or foe. His conviction of purpose and ease in manner helped him win over the middle of the political spectrum and prevail in his agenda. This is a lesson the left can learn.

They treat the current President with the same contempt. They portray him as a man of limited intelligence and too much of a cowboy. His actions have been measured and appropriate in dealing with a different threat from the east.

What I consistently hear from the Left in the media at large and the posters on this thread (not Ike of course) is what is wrong with the Right. Kerry must win because Bush is evil. Ike is wrong because Pak is not perfect.

That tactic will not work. Give me a reason to believe in the Left, not that the Right is wrong. In the end both sided will offer better solutions to different problems, but I will not pick a solution because it is by a "Red" candidate or a "Blue" (The colors for the Republicans and the Democrats)

<<If you had EVERY media on earth broadcasting revised HISTORY about this man for a solid 5 days when he has hardly who they say he was....You'd be sick of it too
CC >>

The history is not revised, it is accurate. I remember when he was elected and find the coverage respectful and accurate. It is just devoid of the "stupid" and "cowboy" labels.

We know who he was and I am not sick of his message. It is written on his grave:

"I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph. And there's purpose and worth to each and every life"

How can you be sick of that?
