The millions of Vietnamese killed and wounded in their own country might be forgiven for laughing out loud at your assertion that the United States was engaged in "nation building" in Vietnam. Vietnam was, pure and simple, a war of national liberation in which we were stupid enough to try to squash the aspirations of the Vietnamese to control their own destiny rather than continue to live as a colonized people.
