I guess it is in one's interpretation of the OT, or OT + NT. Such interpretations vary from "love everybody" to "hate everybody but us" (whoever "we" are, exactly?)

imho, and there's a zen paradox right away - it's vain to call oneself humble, if I am supposed to aspire to be least upon this earth, then I cannot pretend that I am worthy to judge it for anything more than what it is. I can certainly not comprehend parts, or even much, of it, but I cannot bring myself to disagree with it. Nor is it the place of the least upon this earth to judge others or insult their interpretations, so I try to avoid doing that as well. But to say that I am righteous for doing so is to exalt myself and no longer be aspiring to be least and the zen paradox rolls on and on...
