well about 300bc , you begin to see the trade route extending all the way over to China...you have the indo-persian civilizations already in existence a great river valley or two over from the tigris euphrates also very vital and alive and contributing great philosphy and thought to the mind and imagination of men from some 5000 yrs back . The oldest of world religious writings in fact, and incoming from India you have the influences from Alexander and later from Asokan Empire/India (slight , but buddhist emissaried from the worlds largest empire at the time were sent forth )

yes , I would say it would be the height of folly to pretend piously that the OT (and the NT for that matter) were anything close to the "written words of God" only .

We know already that the golden rule was first spoken probably from china , but I'm sure any good humble jewish scholar will tell you it was from the torah . Why? Because the Bible said so ! hehe

And if it wasn't there by the time of Jesus of Nazreth or his contemporary, the great Rabbai Hillel spoke of it ....they would most assuredly have written it in as if it were . Who the heck are the chinese anyways? Some stupid godless people over in the far east that couldn't even figure out that gunpowder was good for other things beside fireworks...what complete fools they were !

(and inventing pasta of course ...but it wasn't kosher pasta , please remember )

But one of their wise men could concieve & teach the Golden
Rule 500 yrs before Christ...

;-)

PS: The Rabbai Hillel was an interesting fellow ...they
crucified his disciple too for being a pacifist .
