Wealth can also be a misleading measurement, but not to the FED which proudly sees rising housing prices as a good thing. Brought on and thanks to the low interest rate environment, and correct monetary policy. Thank you Mr. Greenspan!!

My question, if it is so good, why did they not keep rates low or much lower year ago? In retrospect, is it not a "no brainer".

But of course the trick is to bubble up the assets without causing any inflation, and that is what they have done, according to their own figures. And figures never lie.

But too bad about the C.P.I. numbers, originally to be released last Thursday, now undergoing extensive review & re-write because they obviously came out wrong and if I were a betting man, I would bet they came out way too high.
