an immediate passage of a canadian drug bill will reign in some of the worst healthcare cost escalation imho. That is the first step to fixing the fiscal mess. But the problem under the covers with healthcare is much worse, there has been such severe devastation of the US workforce in this Bush term, in the face of escalating benefit costs that the middle class is going to get behind socialized healthcare that they were not supporting in Hillary's time. Back then, under Clinton, people were doing well and companies were treating people well so we had no need for a huge social program for healthcare. Now, we do. Healthcare really holds the key to a lot of the budget mess in the future imho.

Also wrt the "under new mgmt" for foreign policy, I agree with you except for the Abu Graib scandal which will haunt our image in the world for 100 years. Of course Bush had no part in this, except for the fact that he seems to have sent a CLEAR MESSAGE that the Geneva conventions were obsolete. Loser.
