Free trade has nothing to do with intellectual property rights and patents.

and its obvious you have no clue what free trade means.

Something happened in the last decade that a lot of right wingers can't accept. The fact is that in economic terms the democrats outclassed the republicans by a wide margin. Now when complex issues like trade are discussed among those with differing political pov's, the righties are left with "you don't understand" blah blah blah, which might have worked with the old time traditional democratic base, but not with the "new democrats" who clearly have a deeper understanding of economic matters than the right.

Your assertion that IP rights have nothing to do with free trade is a discussion like this. Of course IP is related to free trade. It is intertwined in the same way human rights and environmental law is related to free trade. Of course, when IP rights or labor/environmental law IS discussed in the context of free trade, it makes the pro-free trade argument a little difficult to take, because we both know msft is not interested in selling software at indian rates even though they are all too willing to employ software engineers at indian rates. Your "you don't know what you are talking about" argument is a little weak, and I don't intend to pay any attention to it.
