Perhaps the simplistic description of 'left / right' has become too corrupted and distorted to be very meaningful anymore. Perhaps we need to ask MORE, like: Are you 'liberal / conservative' on social issues? Are you 'liberal / conservative' on fiscal decisions? Are you more Authoritarian in your support for government exercise of power, or more inclined to oppose strong powers for a strong centralized government and more a supporter of individual liberties when contrasted with government power?
