"I am no supporter of such practices but I don't think they should be illegal in most cases." I don't know what particular practices you are referring to; but if you are speaking to the old practices of prohibiting women from voting or of disallowing certain persons to have and to hold property...or to any public distinction of rights and freedoms being made solely on the basis of race, colour, or suchlike...then we have a genuine disagreement.
