<QUIT LETTING SOME OF THESE FOLKS AVOID TAKING THEIR SHARE OF THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CONDITION OF THE MID-EAST>

You're pushing on a rope, here. The French, and Germans, and Russians, said quite clearly they are not going to help us in Iraq. They said it, 2 years ago, and are still saying it. The sidelines is exactly where they want to be. They intend on posing as the "nice Westerners" in contrast to the American "bad Westerners". They figure, once the American army is gone from Iraq (2005, they think), they can deal with whoever is running the place.

You can't shame them into doing anything, because they are shameless. Prove that they are liars and thieves, and they'll just smile cynically.

The Russians, anyway, have their hands full trying to hold the ground in Chechnya. And the French are slowly figuring out, that 10% of their population is unassimilable, and the other 90% aren't having any babies. They don't need to look beyond their own borders, for problems to keep themselves busy.

The time to line up support for our Iraq venture, was about 2 years ago. It's way, way too late, now. Quit pushing on that rope.
