Well, yeah. That's right. But over the long haul the very thing you don't like is still being realized. So gridlock is really not the answer. It is just a little bandage.

Leftist paradigm is something like this:

You know what an apple is. You've eaten them, grown them and figured out how to cook with them. Apples are pretty well defined for you and have been for humans for thousands of years. Then someone comes along to tell you that eating the apple, cooking with it, living from it is wrong because the apple is a living thing and eating it is to mistreat it. In fact, eating any living thing is wrong. So, you begin gradually cutting living things out of your diet, bit by bit, until it is just taken for granted that one should do this. With each successive generation, your line increasingly loses vigor until you die.
