What percentage of the French backed America on 9/12/2001???? Why did it change so much in such a short time?!?!?

Over 50% Michael, and I believe the number hovered close to 70% at various times..

But at least I can say that the 30-49%, in general, did not advocate a victory over US forces by Saddam.

That's the difference.. not merely that 30% of the French might have been against re-initiating hostilities against Saddam (that number was far higher), but that 30% of them ACTIVELY AND CONSCIOUSLY WANTED SADDAM TO WIN.

That's what p*sses me off.

And that poll was only vaguely carried on the global media. It was heavily "suppressed" and not focused upon, for the obvious reasons.

if the French were in a conflict right now, what percentage of Americans do you think would like to see their enemy prevail?? Just playing Devil's advocate.

Depends on who they were fighting and what justification they had for doing so in the UN.

The US had legal justification, if not outright legal sanction comparable to Desert Storm, for overthrowing Saddam.

Here's an example.. If it had been the French, rather than the US, who were advocating the overthrow of Saddam on the basis of his non-compliance with UNSC binding resolutions, I would have given them my whole-hearted support and applauded their courage and adherence to legal principle.
